Jesus Hernandez, Board Member at Large '27
I am a public librarian with experience across academic and public library systems, specializing in adult services, collections, partnerships, and community outreach. My professional path began in graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin, where I developed a strong foundation in information needs, services, and large-scale collections while working at the Perry–Castañeda Library. I went on to gain hands-on experience at Kyle Public Library, learning the many facets of librarianship in a close-knit, service-driven environment, and later at Austin Central Library, where I experienced the power of a highly coordinated, professional team within a large urban system. I currently bring these experiences together as an Outreach Librarian and Bookmobile Driver, expanding library services beyond the building and into the community with a focus on access, connection, and responsive public service.
