Bookmobile and Outreach Information Repository Project (BOIR)
The Bookmobile and Outreach Information Repository (BOIR) is a resource that allows outreach and bookmobile related research data discoverable, freely reusable, and citable. BOIR provides a general-purpose database resource for a wide diversity of outreach related data types.
BOIR tool originated from an initiative launched by outreach and bookmobile professionals with the help of the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services (ABOS). ABOS members launched BOIR to create an open, easy-to-use, not for profit, community-governed data infrastructure that could be accessed by other outreach professionals and those interested in this type of information.
The BOIR mission is to provide the infrastructure for, and promote the re-use of, data underlying the outreach community and its vast stretch nationwide.
